Diwali

6 Feb

Ben and I shot a Diwali celebration a while ago (him: video, me: photos).  It was a super long day, but the event was a hit!  So many people showed up that there was a line waiting to get into the main theatre due to fire regulation maximum capacity.  This was my first Diwali, and I have loved all the colour, dancing, music, and food!  I could eat samosas all day.

The Terry’s

3 Nov

The Terry’s are one of my favourite families.  We see them every time we’re back in Ontario – usually in Muskoka, which is amazing.  Their family is going to grow to 4 this December and I’m so excited!  Mike and Elisabeth are great parents to Malachi and I can’t wait to meet baby Everett!

Elisabeth is also a wonderful model and has posed for me a couple of times.  You can see some of my other shots of here here.

I took a few pics for them back in August.  The fall has been crazy busy, so it took me a while to get to these but they were so patient.  Here are a few!

The McCutcheon’s

A few shots from a recent family shoot for the McCutcheon’s!  This family was so much fun and had a great time in the leaves.  I love doing family photo sessions!

cinnamon

24 Oct

While Ben was away filming Wipeout in Argentina, I spent a night at my sisters’ place.  We baked buttertarts and cinnamon rolls mmm. The buttertarts were not nearly as good as G-ma’s but the cinnamon rolls were delish!  I’m not great at baking myself, so I mostly just took pictures and ate the final products.

Pumpkin!

14 Oct

The weekend was so busy.  I cooked Thanksgiving dinner (with help!), said goodbye to Ben for a week (he’s gone to Argentina for Wipeout), and helped shoot a wedding (pics to come!).  I stayed Sunday night at my sisters’ place and we spent Monday baking.  We made buttertarts which were admittedly not nearly as good as G-Ma’s are.  We also bought this pumpkin, carved it, and baked the seeds. MMM I LOVE PUMPKIN SEEDS.  I love fall. Best season ever.

Brad

14 Oct

I was going though some pics I took this summer and I cam across this one of my little brother.  I love it and it makes me miss him.  We were playing Settlers (best game ever) at the cottage with Dad, Mom, and Heather.  He used to live in BC and come to our place pretty much every weekend.  Then he moved to the States for school, which sucks (for us anyways).  Can’t wait for Xmas!

twins

2 Oct

My lovely sisters come over last weekend and volunteered to be my guinea pigs for a random shoot : ) .   I don’t know why, but I really wanted to paint someone’s hair white.  I think I had just watched girls on ANTM get feather eyebrows and I also really wanted to try it.  It’s probably dangerous that I work right across the street from a giant costume / craft place.

I  suck at makeup type things (Mel did hers all on her own), but I did glue those feathers to Heather’s brows myself.  AND, for the record, she didn’t complain.  They even came off easily.  She probably got the worse end of the deal though with the white hair, white face, and giant eyebrows.  This was so much fun and made me very excited for Halloween.  Also, I love feathers.

Don’t look like twins eh?

Tofino

1 Oct

I have taken way to long to upload these….  Jeff came to visit us in the spring and we went to Tofino for the weekend where it was freezing and rained constantly.  The boys were brave and surfed.  I was a wuss and just took pictures.  Sooo nice to get away from the city for a bit.

We stopped on the way at Cathedral Grove, which is old growth forest. Amazing and so breathtaking.  Although, not only were the trees huge, but the slugs were too. GROSS. So not a fan of giant (or small) slugs.

We also ate a super random diner in a random island town on the way to Tofino.  Luckily for us it was pasta day.  I think I ate more lasagna than humanly possible that day.

Some other highlights from this trip would include: the statue store, goats on the roof store (where they sell amazing and cheap pottery by the way), fudge, ferrying, and soaking my only pair of shoes in the ocean.
